Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been taken by Department of throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines via the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, said: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be hazardous.

"These kinds of products being offered, normally online, have gone through no quality assurance and there can be no warranty about their safety.

"You just do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
